We all know that once we run out of our warm market the next step most people have been taught by their upline is to buy leads, but how many people are comfortable calling strangers, how many people get good at calling people they don’t know. The phones starts to weigh a ton, procrastination starts to develop. Most people get ready to get ready. Meaning they start to answer e-mails, clean their desk off, answer calls that have nothing to do with business all because they are afraid to call back their cold leads. This does not make any money and the experience starts to become unpleasant, you may start to sweat, become fearful of rejection and you just don’t do it. So what happens over time is that your confidence may go down or you just weren’t a good phone person to begin with.
There are so many people who waste time, money and energy on buying leads that they just don’t call back and if they do the second they get a “NO” they quit. Yes there are scripts for people to follow and some people follow the script word for word and start to see results. Then there are those people who do not like how the script is written or they are not comfortable to ask for the sale, so they change the script and say what they want to say. The business is starting to crumble and they start to think this is not for me, this MLM stuff does not work. How can you effectively build a relationship with people if you are afraid to pick up the phone and call them?
I was just like many of you, who went through my warm market, stopped strangers on the street; you know that 3-foot rule! Yeah, that one! I purchased leads, called them all, had very little results, stopped because I got a “NO” but luckily for me I have the “Rhino” skin, I don’t fold easily, it made me hesitate, but I just thought to myself, “What can the person on the other line really do to me?” The answer is “NOTHING”. So I started to make a game out of it, and it became fun. I started to laugh at the responses of negative people and then I shared it with my team members to try and do the same. Guess what? it still did not work for the majority of my team members because I realized that a lot of them did not have that “Rhino”skin. I needed to help me team.
I wanted a massive organization and trying to find system that helped my team generate leads without them having to make that dreadful initial call was needed.
Realizing that the better you get at simply generating leads using a system for follow-up was the key, which would allow more reps to sign up and it would be without ever making a single outbound call to them first. By doing this, you will become the expert because you have eliminated all the pressure off of yourself. It is more psychological than anything and you will feel more confident and now you will be able to build relationships online automatically.
Having your leads opt-in like clockwork is better than chasing down cold leads and your business starts to run automatically for you, on auto-pilot. So the question is “How long will you wait before you set yours up to run automatically?”
