Rejection – How To Never Get Rejected Again

by Lori on June 28, 2010

Would you like to know how to never get rejected again? No one likes to be rejected and they certainly would not like to have that as a friend in their life on a daily basis. We all have had rode on that roller coaster or that rejection rocket  from time to time and let’s just say that it is not fun at all.

We all have been rejected by a spouse, friend, relative, co worker and have never really been quite prepared for the way that they rejected us. We have been rejected by our whole entire list of our warm market, how many is that, 60, 100, 200 or more people? WOW! That is really harsh!

Have you really thought about why your were rejected? Did you take it personally? A lot of us do in the beginning and it causes so many of us to quit our business and give up on our dreams. It does not have to be that way. You can stop being rejected today!

First and one of the most important things that you should remember is that people do not join businesses they join YOU! In order for that you happen you  should be showing people how you can help them find the solution to whatever problem that they have because trust me they have problems. You must become the leader they are looking for. You have to learn, train and study the top leaders in the industry and share what you have learned from them with people who are looking for the information and knowledge that you have acquired.

If you provide them with what they want, build a relationship with them, show them ways to acquire some new skills, help them with their personal development and offer so much value that you will be the person that they look to period.  They will want to know what it is that you do and at that time you share it with them and because you have been a source of information and value they will take a look and want to do what you do.  This leads to never being rejected again because you are not chasing or begging people to look at your opportunity, they will start to chase you because you gave them something that most people crave. A LEADER!

I know you may think that this is so simple and in fact it really is if you actually do it. It can work  if you are looking for a way to stop getting rejected. All you have to do is find the right people and they are everywhere if you know where to look.

“Finding The Right People To Market Your Business To” is another article I wrote and you should take a look at it. It has helped people get rid of rejection and to start building relationships and organizations in their business which is what you really want anyway. I am sure it can help you to so check it out.

If you have enjoyed this post please share it with others as this may be what someone needs to help them in their business and I look forward to your comments.

Nice post Lori! So true! People join you not your business.

Love how you share about serving by offering a solution to the problem.

It's an interesting paradox that it's not really about you and it is about you at the same time.

What I mean by that is it's not about you, it's about your client or potential partner wants, needs, and desires.

And it is about you by who you are BEING when you connect with them.

Are you being the trusted adviser or product pusher?

Thank you Lori for the reminder that it's not personal and we are not being rejected.

    To Your Genius,
    Eiji

You're absolutely right, Lori. It's all about focusing on the other person and their needs — not on your own desire to succeed and get ahead. People will always see right through the latter and, guess what . . . REJECTION! People are not interested in our success. They are interested in finding solutions to their current circumstances or specific needs — some of which they may not even be aware they have. It is our job to bring out those needs and provide an answer. When we do that in an honest and non-self-serving way, we have not only created a win-win situation, but we have built a valuable new relationship.

Lori, the MLM I'm associated with believes in what we call “I Am” Statements. And the one “I Am” that fits here is” “I am attracting the right people to my business” So important to have the right people around you. Thanks Lori for this timely and important post.

    Lori,
Thanks for a powerful reminder to strive to be a leader, the recognized authority, THE brand, the go-to person. Actually, you are suggesting to focus on our own self, improve our own skills – instead of focusing on “getting” others to follow us. Once we become that leader, people will come after us. Also, we need to select the right people to work with, the Aces in the deck, rather than all those 4's and 5's who just don't get it about the value of what we are offering. This concept works for business, for network marketing, and even for finding a suitable love relationship partner.

    Hi Lori,
Oh I remember so well how I hated rejection and it would take a few days to get over. Now I know not to take it personally and just move on. Not everyone likes everyone and that's okay. But there is always someone for everyone :-)

  • lorirobertson7

Now that we know it is not us that they are rejecting it really does not matter because there will be someone out there who will tell us Yes!

Wonderful post, Lori! Everyone loves a leader, someone who will genuinely care about their success and show them the way.

    Lori,
This is a great article, thanks so much. The truth is, rejection is part of business and part of life. I totally agree with you, it is important to position ourselves and to be the leader. Our clients don't want our products, they want US to give them the results they want in their lives..
    Thanks again,
    Adam

    Hey Lori!

Attraction marketing is where it's at! Setting yourself up as a valuable leader will allow you to attract your target market to you as opposed to chasing leads and be rejected for eternity.

Thanks for bringing up this topic today, it's something that many people don't understand. Even those who think they understand it, many times lack a few key pieces to really putting it to work for them! Thanks!

  • lorirobertson7

    Thanks Teresa people certainly do.

    Hey Lori,

Great post, its a pity so many of us Network Marketers have to learn the hard way first, by being rejected over and over. It is a horrible feeling and it's dificult not to take it personally!

Thank goodness for the internet for teaching us how we should be prospecting; by becoming a leader, just like you!

    Thanks Lori

    Sue

  • lorirobertson7

  • lorirobertson7

You are so correct there are few leaders out here and that's why we should step up and become a leader so there will be more of us as an example to others. Thanks Vanessa.
