Is Your Lack Of Diligence Killing Your Business?

by Lori on December 6, 2010

Is your lack of diligence killing your  business and is  that the reason that the success you want is not here yet? You may not even know the answer to that question yet because I am sure that there may be other reasons that my seem like it is the reason, such as:

1. I don’t have anyone to talk to about my business.

2. Everyone keeps telling me “NO”.

3. I can’t get anyone to buy the products or services.

4. People say it costs too much to join my business and they don’t have the money.

5. I am not a sales person.

I could go on forever but I guess you get the point.  Your mind can come up with every excuse in the book as to why success just eludes you.

Did you know that everything you lack can be traced back to your insistence of not being diligent?  One of my mentors “Joe Schroeder” wrote that in one of his books.  I thought that was  so profound  and it is the absolute truth.  The mere fact that you do not have the success you want is because of your lack of diligence and in fact it is killing your  business and not all of the excuses our mind tells us is true.

How diligent or persisent are you in your business efforts everyday?  Do you do just enough to say, “well I worked my business today, I called a few leads, showed my comp plan this week.”  My question to  you is ‘Is that enough”.  How hard are you actually working in your business?

Let’s take a look at what the average people do, they get up around 6:00am, they go to work, complain about their jobs, do just about enough to say they have done their job, don’t ask for more work, they bolt out of the door at 5:00pm and can’t wait for the weekend.

Sounds real familiar right?  They get home, maybe call a few people they know to share the business, go to a meeting and have no sign ups and get frustrated and say “This is not working, I can’t get anyone to join!” I know this may be making people laugh or a bit uncomfortable because they can see themselves in this little scenario.

A diligent person is the total opposite, they get up early because they love what they do, they work hard and ask for more work, they do more that what the average person does and they DO NOT have the lottery mentality.  They work their business everyday and keep working at their business even when it appears that nothing is working, that nothing is going right, they keep pushing until they feel they cannot push anymore then they push again. They do not take off a day because they cannot afford to unless they have reached their level of success they always dreamed of.  They live with purpose and have a prosperity mind set.  They will NOT be denied.

Are you diligent or it your lack of diligence killing your business?  Please leave me your thoughts or comments below.  I would love to hear from you.

I love what I do and this business. I am excited to meet others that have the same passion and what to change their life for the better. If you don’t have that passion and really don’t work the business then this is really no more than the J.O.B. that your trying to get away from. :) Everyone has rejections, I have had my share for sure and will have more. That is the nature of this, but giving up after a few no’s is not someone who is diligent…lol…Thanks for sharing this great post Lori.

LeeAnn, thanks for the comment, as long as you keep going after your rejection you have won the battle. It’s all about not quitting no matter what and your diligence will pay off. Thanks so much

    Hi Lori!
Being strong-willed, persevering and having perspective come from being in it for the long-term. And that is tied directly to one’s intentions. If you’re out to make a quick buck in the short-term, what will happen is that you’ll run at the slightest problem!

    Good writing, Lori!

    Yasser,

You are so right and most people do just that run because they have no foundation for success .
    Thanks for your comment.
