How To Find The Right People To Market Your MLM Business To

by Lori on January 20, 2010

If you are having a difficult time trying to find the right people to market your MLM business opportunity to and actually join it or at least purchase your product or service, you are not alone. There are so many people who have that same problem and hopefully I can shed some light on how to target the right people.

First you need to find people who already are in business or industry you are in, people who have already invested into their business and people who want to succeed in their business, and people who are ready to spend and do whatever it takes to succeed in their business or industry. You must target people who understand the industry, understand what it takes to succeed and want the success of owning their own business no matter what.

We spend too much time chasing after our family, friends and co-workers to try and make them see what we see. We want them to embrace our great opportunity as the next best thing. It may work in the beginning for some people but if you take a poll you will find that the majority of the successful networkers go after other networkers.

It just makes sense to find people who want it just as bad as you do.

One of my mentors suggested that you should go after 10’s which translates into either millionaires who already are successful and are always looking to make more money or.  people with a mindset of a millionaire but just has not made it yet. People who have a large circle of influence, people who will do what it takes, people who know people, people if you just give them a chance they will succeed, you get the picture? Most of us are afraid to go after these people because we think that just because they are successful or they have money or a large center of influence that they will shoot us down, but just the opposite is true.

People like that will take a look a business opportunity because their mindset it different from most people. Once the mind is expanded it can never go back to its original form of being.  It you taste success you want more, if you yearn for success, you study and follow successful people and that is what you surround yourself with.

Basically, change your thought pattern of trying to help people who do not want to be helped, who do not want more out of life, who want to continue to live a mediocre life. Go after the people who have the mindset of success and watch how your business which start to reflect the RIGHT people in your business.

    Hello Lori,
The Networking Profession is misunderstood by the general public.
The average worker must be retrained mentally about the independence of business ownership. There are responsiblities in owning your business. He must learn how to position himself to get paid and not to think about hourly guarenteed money.
He only knows how to be a “wage slave”. There must be a shift in mindset before this individual becomes successful. A Professional Networker understands how to position himself and his team for success and financial freedom.

    Hi Lori,

Great to see another post from you! I stopped chasing Family and friends years ago :-) There are just so many people to work with and help online.

Facebook and the social networks just open it up to everyone to compete and the best thing is you are working with people who understand the industry rather than trying to get people who think we are involved in a pyramid :-) Lol, it makes me laugh when people say that…

Wow, I'm so glad you told it how it is. Too many people live in fear and lack and some I think are even afraid to be rich so they spend too much time on trying to convince these skeptics that will never see the vision and the potential of wealth that can be theirs with network marketing.

I know Jacqueline, it is a shame and when they go after the wrong people and they don't join the business, you know what they say “This stuff does not work”

    Hi Lori!

Wow! Lots of similarities in speaking/training. Most new speakers focus and place their energies on the ones in the crowd giving resistance or looks skeptical trying to convert them.

Seasoned speakers build deeper connections with the ones already responding with smiles or nodding their heads and select one in each quadrant of the audience.

When the speaker connects with one audience member, the audience notices and naturally gets more connected with the speaker and sometimes the skeptics do turnaround through social proof.

Same applies in network marketing, as you build with the ones who see what you see. Others will start seeing what you see when you share stories of not your success but the success of those you've supported in your team.

Drip marketing (Share exciting news and change the subject) and always creating a buzz around you with something new about you and your business will make you a client magnet.

    To Your Genius,
    Eiji

Eiji, I believe it is all about the person you are and that will be the people that you attract as well. Love the comparison.
